Statistics indicate that there are over 2,000,000 reasons people need anger management each year. Most people who do have an anger problem deny or minimize it. This is actually quite normal. We humans have a tendency for things to look less severe on the inside to us than they do on the outside to others. However, the costs for minimizing anger are tremendous for both the person with the anger problem and his or her loved ones or co-workers.

Think you might have an anger management problem? Take this simple test to find out. Answer “yes” to the questions you think describe you and “no” to those which don’t. Answering “yes’ to 5 or more of these questions may indicate that an anger management class might be helpful to you.

1. Has anyone ever suffered an injury as a result of your anger?

2. Do people describe you as two different people – a “Dr. Jeckyl” when calm and a “Mr Hyde when angered?

3. I get angry when I have to wait

4. I get angry when I feel criticized.

5. People would describe me as sarcastic.

6. I’ve said things when angry that I’ve later regretted.

7. Most of my problems have to do with the way other people act.

8. I think other people are too sensitive.

9. Has anyone ever said that s/he is afraid of you?

10. When angry have you ever raised your hand or shaken your fist at anyone?

11. I get angry or impatient when there isn’t enough time to do what I want to do.

How did you do? Another way to look at this test is to determine the severity and frequency with which you do some of the things you answered “yes” to. For example, you may have had only three “yeses” but you do them several times a week. That may also suggest the need for an anger management class.

There was a point when relationships, friendships and contracts was based primarily on respect and trust.

Today we are living in a really dangerous world where such virtues as trust and respect has been broken. It appears that pretty much everybody has something that they are trying to hide, that they have a ‘deep dark secret’. Just when you start to fall head over heels in love with someone, forge a friendship or form a business partnership, you find out something about that person that fully shatters your confidence.

Little wonder why in recent times more and more persons are doing criminal background check.

To some, this could seem like rather extraordinary measures to go to, even paranoiac, but unfortunately , this is the only real way nowadays that one can be certain about the individual ( s ) they are being involved with. It may even protect or save their lives or the lives of their loved ones.

What are advantages of getting a criminal background check? You can establish, as an example if that guy ( or girl ) you are dating isn’t in reality a vocation criminal like a rapist, a murderer or even an escaped fugitive from justice. Or that nanny or au pair you have just hired, is she the nice young girl she appears to be, or is she actually a kid abuser, molester or perhaps a thief? Or that plausibly charming and truthful guy you have just hired recently. Is he all that he seems to be, or does he fall far short of the ideal? Does his resume’ reflects everything that he makes a plea to be or is he merely a smooth-talking con artist?

These are some of the things that just could be going through the mind of a possible date, marriage partner or employer. It is under the above eventualities that criminal background checks might be mandatory, because people aren’t always what they appear to be.

naturally, this does not mean that we should be unduly suspicious of everybody we encounter ; after all , we cannot live a life of total paranoia and distrust. If everybody mistrusted everyone they met, nobody would trust anybody. And criminal background probes aren’t required mandatory in every example, unless you’re employed on certain roles, like a bank or financial establishment, as an example, where criminal background checks are compulsory.

But if you put a value on the soundness of relationships and the honest and fidelity of staff, then criminal background probes might be for you.

there are many, many websites that offer free criminal background check ; you will have to decide which one is best for yourself and your loved ones. But often “free” websites are not what they seem to be. They might be free in the sense that you can readily click on to its website, but then you find out it’s got a hidden price rather than telling upfront what they charge. And “free” criminal checks websites are sometimes not very comprehensive ; they only give you certain data just to lead you on, then you have pay to find out the rest. Its like you’re going in circles, on a ‘wild goose chase’.

It’s better to pay for a criminal check websites ; at least they’re fair enough to tell you how much it costs and what you’re getting. Besides, you’ll get your money’s worth, you will be able to do the exhaustive inquiry you want. And you can protect yourself-and those you like.

Spyware is a type of application that installs itself on a computer without the user’s permission or acceptance , and gathers information about the user and sends it to whoever controls the Spyware. Adware can be similar to Spyware, but it primarily delivers ads and is installed with user permission, but often deceptively . All are potentially harmful so you need to remove Spyware, Adware and Malware from your computer.

Common forms of Spyware include: key loggers, screen capture devices and Trojan viruses. It can install on your computer via activex controls on the internet or alongside other software . Without your knowledge or consent , it will gather personal information such as passwords, email addresses, web browsing history, age, sex, location etc. These are usually used by hackers or identity thieves for accessing confidential accounts .

Spyware and Adware consume CPU, Ram and other resources of your computer , which can slow it down considerably. It will then consume your bandwidth to connect to the internet and send all the information it has gathered, while Adware downloads advertisements which will be annoying you through pop-up ads or other kinds of advertisements that are supported by its software.

Installing anti-virus programs such as Avast or McAfee can protect your computer, but you should also use a product dedicated to anti-spyware and anti-adware. Generally , you need at least two defences these days, due to the large amount of Malware that is floating around .

If you haven’t tried installing any anti-spyware tools or programs on your computer, we recommend that you try Microsoft Defender. This will provide decent security for your computer and it also has automatic update features

There are several steps to protect your computer from Spyware, but generally it is just common sense. Use a firewall, be careful what you download, try the Firefox browser and don’t open email attachments you are unsure of. But definitely make sure that you are using anti-spyware software. Try a Spyware scan on this site to be sure your computer is not infected .

How do Stun Guns Work?

A stun gun is an electrical self defense device that uses high voltage to stop an attacker. Touching a person with the prongs on the stun gun rapidly immobilizes the attacker. However, because the amperage is very low, no serious or permanent injury is inflicted.

The stun is designed to key into the nervous system. It dumps its energy into the muscular tissueat a high pulse frequency that makes the muscles work very quickly, but not efficiently. This rapid work cycle depletes blood sugar by converting it to lactic acid all in just seconds. The resulting energy loss makes it grueling to move and function. At the same time, the tiny neurological impulses that travel throughout the body to direct muscle movement are interrupted. This causes disorientation and loss of balance which leaves the attacker in a submissive and confused condition for several minutes. Still, there is no significant effect on the heart and other organs.

As a general rule, a half second contact can repel and startle the attacker, with the individual feeling some pain and muscle contraction. One to two seconds can cause muscle spasms and a dazed mental state. Over three seconds can cause loss of balance and muscle control, mental confusion and disorientation. Please realize that 3 seconds is quite a long time when in a physical struggle. Every person is different and will react differently to the effects of a stun gun. What may put one person down in 3 seconds could take 5 seconds on another person.

The electrical shock that emits from the stun gun will not pass from the individual being stunned to the individual doing the stunning. The effect is localized only in the affected area and does not pass through the body. Even if either you or the attacker is standing in water or are wet, you will not be shocked.

As much as anything else, home security is all about good habits. Do you ever forget to check the locks on your windows and doors ? What about locking up the garage, tool shed and outbuildings ? Take a walk around your back yard , does it feature many different hiding choices – like trees that are convenientlyclose to doorways and back windows?

Here’s another question – When you’re out of town does your house look deserted or does it always look like someone is home ? Do trusted neighbors know how to reach you ? It’s not hard to learn some good home security habits. To begin , this is a short list of ideas:

Basic Home Security Tips

    * If ever you spot something that doesn’t seem right in your neighborhood – ask about it.

    * Use only your last name and initials on a mailbox , in the phone directory and on your building directory . This is most important if you’re a woman. And if you live alone, don’t advertise it .

    * Always keep your doors and windows locked .

    * Use a heavy duty safety chain, a one inch deadbolt and a wide angle door peephole

    * Remember don’t undo the safety chain when someone comes to your door until you decide to let them in.

    * When you move into a new home , get the locks changed .

    * If you lose your keys or your purse is stolen, change the locks.

    * Always check the identification of anyone you don’t know who is looking to get you to open your door and do it BEFORE you undo the security chain

    * Keep indoor and outdoor lights on.

    * Install security lighting and cameras to cover your your backyard and driveway and close to the doors . Pay attention to dark corners.

    * If you’re home looks like it has been broken into , stay outside . Go to a neighbor and alert the police.

    * On the telephone , never tell anyone that you’re alone.

    * Don’t get on an elevator with someone even remotely suspicious .

    * Avoid the stairwell in your apartment if you’re alone .

    * If you’re going away , make arrangements for your home to look like someone is at home . Be certain that you don’t have mail or newspappers piling up at your front door .

    * Ask your friends and neighbors to keep an eye on your house.

    * If you have children be sure to use a swimming pool alarm.

Should we really be concerned with privacy online?? Are there really legions of people spying on us and watching our every move. I really hope that this brief article will give you some knowledge of some of the issues in protecting your privacy online..

So who is likely to be spying on us and why?

Well let’s make it perfectly clear, crime on the internet is big, very big , the totals are never going to be exact as we simply don’t have a record but you’d be safe to assume it’s going to be counted in billions of dollars world wide. Many, perhaps the majority of these crimes are not listed, recorded or even noticed so an estimate is all we’re going to get.

There are some very powerful cyber gangs across the world, in places like Brazil or China.. Cyber Gangs in places like Brazil, China and Eastern Europe have very sophisticated criminal networks. Internet crime, stealing from ordinary people can be very rewarding with little risk.. You can see the attraction to the criminal fraternity big rewards, safe and very low risk – cyber crime pays !

So we know that gangs will routinely target the average internet surfer , furthermore many will be extremely careful in how they steal from you, but remember there are literally endless ways to steal your information and ultimately your money. For instance I have seen a sealed copy of windows XP which looked 100% legitimate bought from Eastern Europe, it was shrink wrapped, had a licence, manual included but it had an extra bonus. The CD contained a version of Windows XP with spyware and trojans already installed , as soon as you used this version of XP your details, accounts and passwords would be passed out to a remote site on the internet.

As you lock your doors and windows at home, some of us do this online.. I want my privacy protected because online I pay bills, order goods, do my banking and many other activities which involve my financial and personal details. Do I want these details logged on servers, routers and at my ISP – well no not really.

You see it’s actually quite easy to steal peoples details online , a little harder to steal your money but not much . It’s certainly the only way a gang of cyber criminals in Rio De Janerio will be able to steal from you without you holidaying in Brazil. If you did discover your bank account has been raided like this, what could you do? If it does happen all you are able to do really is try and get your money back from the bank or card provider, it will be extremely unlikely the thief will be caught

To be truly secure, surf anonymously and encrypt your data

The expungement of criminal records is often a course of action in which a first time charged felon can seek to have his criminal records sealed. The process that is used to offer an expungement of criminal records differs by just about every state and jurisdiction. The prerequisites usually involve a holding out time period between the moment of condemnation and the asking for criminal offender records to become sealed. The criminal needs to have no previous history of criminal action and should display no repetitive felonious acts since the conviction. The petitioner must also show successful probation completion.

The expungement of criminal records won’t be granted in some instances. Public criminal offender records in many cases are not taken out for convicted felonies and first degree situations as well as sexual attack, rape cases and sexual behaviors with minors. Allowing a removal of criminal offender records depends on the criminal offense concerned and the laws and regulations. Every state may differ in just what cases may be expunged and whether or not expungement is granted at all. The chances of enjoying a file stripped away from public access improves if the petitioner attests productive rehab initiatives.

In cases where the offender is a minor, expungement of the criminal case is generally granted and frequently even necessary. That is to permit younger criminal offenders the opportunity to begin again when they achieve 17 years of age.

The expungement of criminal records is often wanted by new people with criminal offenses for numerous factors. A lot of people might be looking for work, while others would like to be able to vote again. Still there are many people who may search for expungment of criminal records for the privilege to bear firearms.

Expungement of criminal records involves the full elimination of the prior record, even dwi expungment. As the case is dealt with as if it has never existed from the general public, people involved in the event may still have access to the record.

Now to get them ready for the Advanced Class!

Shower peeper.

Recently the college where I teach had an individual that was sneaking into the dorms and pulling back the shower curtains to peek at the girls that were showering. This individual was not a student, was eventually caught and brings to mind the tips in the Preventive Measures guide: you need to be aware of what is going on around your campus. Don’t let people prop open building doors “just for a minute” to let in friends. That’s how creeps like the shower peeper (or worse) get in. Who knows how far this criminal would’ve taken his act. Did it just start with staring at girls on campus? Was he targeting certain girls? Was he planning to do more than peek? Remember, your safety is up to you – don’t rely solely on campus security policies to protect yourself. Take action.

TMI – Too Much Information! Be careful of posting too much information on social networking sites. I think that some people believe that what they post online is only seen by their friends and family. Wrong. Unless you have your privacy settings restricted to who can access your information it’s out there for anybody to see.
